ITIS pioneered the use of Floating Vehicle Data^® from cellular phone networks (CFVD^®) and GPS devices (GFVD™). We combine that source data with journalistic and fixed-sensor data. Sophisticated analysis within TrafficScience then delivers real-time and historic traffic information that is rich in detail, is extremely accurate, and can be used in the widest possible variety of applications. FVD^® allows for more extensive geographic coverage, at a much lower cost, than traditional fixed sensor technology.

The Company

ITIS Holdings plc was founded in 1997. The growth of the company’s UK business has been driven by major contracts with motor manufacturers, government agencies and cellular networks.

Significant acquisitions, of Estimotion Inc. in 2003 and Trafficlink in 2007, have extended the range of applications that ITIS can address.

Patented Technology

ITIS has built up a strong patent portfolio that supports our development of TrafficScience. We protect our intellectual property through a number of patent families.

International Expansion

Today, ITIS is expanding rapidly outside the UK, replicating its business model in overseas territories by licensing the use of TrafficScience.

ITIS has deployments in Barcelona, Spain with Telefonica; in Baltimore, Maryland since September 2004; state-wide traffic information for Missouri Department for Transport since June 2006; in Belgium national traffic information with BE-Mobile and Proximus from March 2005; national traffic information for road agencies and private IVR services through Orange (partner) in Israel; in Australia, a nationwide traffic information system using data from the Optus cellular network since May 2009; also in Australia a national metropolitan RDS-TMC service being deployed for Intelematics Australia Pty Ltd; in Prague, Czech Republic city-wide information; a number of other projects in development in Ireland, South Africa and Asia.
