ITIS LAUNCH TRAFFICSCIENCE™ WITH NAVSAT IN CENTRAL AMERICA

Providing real time traffic information to visitors in Costa Rica is a vision of Navsat which is launching its CONCIERGE Service that targets the car hire and navigation marketplace.

Navsat has chosen to licence the ITIS TrafficScience™ Technology in order to provide visitors to Costa Rica and Costa Ricans themselves with the latest information on the road conditions. The seven year agreement cements a long term partnership between ITIS and Navsat that is based on working together to expand the technologies throughout Central America.

The TrafficScience™ system will use Navsat’s own GPS Floating Vehicle Data (GFVD™) to provide high quality flow data across the whole of Costa Rica. Navsat’s vision is to become the market leader for real-time traffic information in Costa Rica, providing its in-vehicle CONCIERGE Services such as internet web maps, telephone information services and broadcast services such as RDS-TMC for in-car, satellite and other navigation systems. Navsat will also provide historical traffic information to government and road builders to help planning for future improvements to the road network.

ITIS are a leading provider of real time and historic traffic information and operate the world’s most commercially successful Floating Vehicle Data (FVD®) system. ITIS will work closely with Navsat to deliver commercially proven applications such as IVR telephone services and RDS-TMC.
