TMC Features and benefits
iTMC™ delivers the most up to date traffic information, the instant it becomes available, directly to a vehicle's satellite navigation system. Once received the information is decoded and translated into visual or audible 'traffic alerts' and displayed as warning symbols on the IVSN screen enabling the driver to see where the traffic problems are located ahead. But more importantly, because traffic data is integrated directly into the Navigation system, it automatically gives the driver the option to take an alternative route to avoid the traffic incident.

The traffic information is received via a "silent" FM data channel, which means that users can listen to music or news broadcasts simultaneously with - and without interference from - TMC data transmissions.
TMC services are continuous and presented directly to the driver, unlike occasional roadside information services such as variable message signs or scheduled radio traffic bulletins.
