Launched in 1999 NavTrak was one of the first companies to introduce a GPS/GSM vehicle-tracking device in the UK and now manages the largest consumer telematics customer base using GPS/GSM technology.
The NavTrak family of telematics units are fitted to over 100,000 vehicles both in UK, mainland Europe, America and Australia. From the outset NavTrak's objective was to deliver to its customers the most effective stolen vehicle tracking system possible and at the same time offer a device that could deliver benefits to the user on a day to day basis. ITIS believe that the unique features of NavTrak (Automatic Driver Recognition), extensive coverage across Europe and additional benefits such as Emergency and Breakdown assistance within the UK, have allowed NavTrak to deliver this objective.

Vehicle crime from a consumer perspective
Vehicle theft has changed. Recent improvements and innovation in vehicle security have forced vehicle thieves to turn to other means of stealing vehicles - it's easier to take the owner's keys than to break in and bypass the alarm / immobiliser.
Systems that 'report themselves stolen' and thereby reduce the time and opportunity for the thief to succeed, have long been recognised by the insurance industry as essential to addressing the problem of vehicle theft. The weakest link in vehicle security is now the driver both inside and outside of the vehicle environment. The result is a serious increase in house break-ins and 'carjacking' where the main target of the criminal is vehicle keys.
